When
we think of our dream
honeymoon most
of us will think of an exotic destination, safari,
long hot beaches and private hideaways on tropical
islands. But let’s face it these can be very
expensive honeymoons to go on – especially
on top of the cost of the wedding as well.
But some couples don’t worry about going
abroad, they decide to stay in the UK instead.
And if you are unconvinced about the benefits of
staying in this country, consider some of the following
options for a stunning honeymoon you will remember
for a long time to come. The best part of these
destinations is that you will still be able to
get away from it all for a week or two.
The Lake District
This region of the country is filled with lakes
and stunning views and walks to enjoy. You could
book a cottage near Lake Windermere, take a day
long walk round Lake Ullswater or even explore
some of the towns and shops that are dotted all
over the Lake District.
If you fancy a nice break away to get rid of
the cobwebs and relax after the stresses of planning
your own wedding, there is no better place to do
it than the Lake District.
Devon and Cornwall
As anyone who has been to Devon or Cornwall will
tell you, these two counties offer you something
new every time you go. But there are also the old
familiar destinations to visit, such as Tintagel
Castle in Cornwall and Torquay in Devon on the
English Riviera.
The great thing about these counties is that
you can explore lots of different towns and then
go out into the countryside as well. No matter
what you want from a honeymoon in the UK, Devon
and Cornwall can offer it all. You can try out
the moors too, such as the famous – or perhaps
infamous – Dartmoor. Just remember to be
prepared if you fancy a walking holiday. You need
to make sure you take all the right things with
you.
The Scottish Highlands
This part of the country is quite simply stunning.
It really does take you to the wilds of Scotland
and you can expect to see many wonderful sights
as a result. You can visit Loch Ness and look for
the monster, go to Fort William and find out what
it would be like to live in a rural community or
explore the Cairngorms.
Wherever you go there is a lot to discover – not
least the amazing mountain vistas you’ll
see.
Cotswolds
Stay in one
of the prettiest villages in the whole of England – Bourton
on the Water. It’s a wonderful and charming
place that is indicative of much of what you will
find in the Cotswolds.
You can enjoy the slower pace of life and get
all the fresh air you need. And with plenty of
larger towns not far away, you can enjoy a wonderful
honeymoon doing whatever you want.
